City of Hoschton
Pump Station Replacement
Jackson County, Georgia
The City of Hoschton needed to replace the White Street Pump Station, which
was deteriorating and in need of replacement.
After assessing the condition of the pump station, and the City’s existing sanitary
sewer collection system, EMI considered an alternative to replacing the lift
station, which was to extend the gravity sewer and eliminate the White Street
Pump Station. Since the construction of this pump station, the City’s sewer
system had expanded and suitable topography would allow for the gravity sewer
to be extended and collected in another pump station.
The City was able to intercept the gravity sewer, eliminate the White Street
Pump Station and extend the gravity sewer line to the nearby Wildflower Pump
Station, which required less capital and lowered energy costs.
EMI assisted the City in obtaining $315,000 in GEFA loan funds for the project.
